Hurricanes

Thanks to those who have emailed expressing concern about the hurricanes. 'Tropical Storm Hanna' passed less than 100 miles to the north of us last night causing little more than moderately heavy winds and rain. We didn't even have an interruption in electricity. A few days ago 'Hurricane Ike' did seem destined to hit us right amidships as a Category 4 hurricane early next week, but the latest advisories now project it crossing the southern Bahamas and then heading for Key West and then on to the Gulf of Mexico. Could be bad news for New Orleans again, or perhaps the Florida panhandle, but for the moment it looks as though it will miss Freeport by a wide margin. The white arrow on the map shows the Millard home base and the advisory on 'Ike' as at 5:00 PM Eastern today.
So it's been a case of hope for the best but prepare for the worst with, fortunately, the former prevailing .... this time. Thanks again for your concern though. It was much appreciated.
